Validity and Reliability in Qualitative Research
This article discusses the validity and reliability of qualitative research. The author discusses eight strategies that can be used to increase the validity of a qualitative study, including triangulation, member checking, thick description, reflexivity, negative case analysis, prolonged engagement, peer debriefing, and external audit. The author also discusses the importance of using scientific methods in qualitative research and the role of guidance and feedback from others in ensuring the validity and reliability of a study.
