Location: Check Mate

This learning activity helps students learn how to identify the location of objects using a coordinate grid.

Students will play a game in which they determine the location of four rectangles on a coordinate grid.

The specific expectations for students in this learning activity are that they will be able to:

• Identify and describe the general location of an object using a grid system
• Identify and describe the location of an object using a grid map, and reflect two-dimensional shapes
