How to Prepare Bach Flower Remedies
This text describes the two methods used to prepare Bach flower remedies: the sunshine method and the boiling method.
The sunshine method is used to prepare the first nineteen remedies, while the boiling method is used to prepare the last eighteen remedies.
The sunshine method involves floating the blossoms of the plant on the surface of pure water in the sunlight for three to four hours. The boiling method involves boiling the blossoms of the plant in water for thirty minutes.
Here are the two methods in more detail:
Sunshine Method
1. Take a thin glass bowl and almost fill it with the purest water obtainable, if possible from a spring nearby.
2. Pick the blooms of the plant and immediately float them on the surface of the water, so as to cover it.
3. Leave the blossoms in the sunlight for three to four hours, or less time if the blooms begin to show signs of fading.
4. Carefully lift out the blossoms and pour the water into bottles so as to half fill them.
5. Fill up the bottles with brandy to preserve the remedy.
Boiling Method
1. Take a thin glass bowl and fill it with the purest water obtainable, if possible from a spring nearby.
2. Add the blossoms of the plant to the water.
3. Bring the water to a boil and then simmer for thirty minutes.
4. Allow the mixture to cool.
5. Strain the mixture and pour it into bottles.
The remedies can then be used to treat a variety of emotional conditions.
