Evolutionary Trends in Animals
This learning activity on evolutionary trends in animals is designed to help learners acquire collaborative research skills.
Learners are grouped into teams of four to five individuals and are tasked with researching different theories of evolution, including fixism, spontaneous generation, and evolution.
They then write a 300-word summary of each theory, including the theory’s defenders, period, arguments, examples, and limitations. The summaries are shared with the other group members for feedback.
This activity can help learners to:
- Learn about different theories of evolution
- Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of different theories
- Acquire collaborative research skills
