Etty BenZaken’s Folk Tale and Song Performances
Etty BenZaken is a theater director who has created two works that use folk tales and songs to explore identity, community, and culture.
The first work, “Fabrics’ Stories,” was performed by Jewish and Arab students in a multi-lingual tapestry of stories and songs. The second work, “The Merry Fishermen’s Island,” was a children’s play that also explored the power of folk materials to bridge cultural divides.
