The Aztecs had a complex family structure that was based on the nuclear family, but also included extended family members.
Children entered adulthood when they got married, which was usually around the age of 20 for men and 16 for women.
Marriages were arranged by the families of the bride and groom, and a matchmaker was often used to help choose a bride.
Divorce was possible for both men and women, but the reasons for divorce varied depending on the gender.
